June Recap

Ok, so I'll get caught up on the month of June and then I will TRY to do better this month....again, no guarantees!!!!

---June started out with Rylee beginning her Itty Bitty Tumblers Class.  It was on Tuesday evenings @ 7:15 and lasts until July 6th.  She LOVES tumbling so I thought this class would be perfect for her.  She was a rockstar!!  On the first night, she was the only one in the class that could do a summersault!  MeMe is soooo proud!!!  They started off with the basics but gradually added new stuff each week.  The things she learned were of course the summersault, log-roll, back-bend, jumping and spinning around on a small trampoline, walking on a low balance beam, headstands, handstands, backwards roll, etc.  I am really anxious for daddy to come to her last class next week to see her in action!  I think there might be some gymnastics in our future!!

---Ryan took his annual golfing trip to Amana, IA with the guys the first weekend in June.  There was 8 of them that went this year.  They always have a great time and he looks forward to it every year!  I don't mind it cause that is a good excuse for Rylee and I to make a road trip south!

---My Aunt Rita got married on June 5th (the same weekend Ryan was golfing) so Rylee and I went to Caldwell to see our family and to take in the wedding festivities.  We had a great time!  It was pretty flippin' hot and as most of you know, the community building in Caldwell doesn't have air conditioning!  I was pretty miserable but suck it up for my family!  Rylee was soaked by the end of the night but she had lots of fun!

---On June 16th, we went to our first Royal's game of the year.  We have taken Rylee to at least one game ever since she was born.  It ended up storming just before the game so there was an hour and a half rain delay.  The game didn't start until 8:30 so it was a late night.  It ended up being a beautiful evening at the ball park.

---Father's Day weekend was very busy but lots of fun!  We started Friday evening off with a trip to the pool with Cody, Sara, Jackson & Matthew.  It was a beautiful evening and we pretty much had the pool to ourselves!  Ryan's grandparents were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary so we had a family luncheon for them on Saturday at the country club in Emma, MO.  It was nice to see most of the Hinck family.  We don't get together often enough!  A lovely little rain storm blew in shortly after lunch so our plans to let the kiddo's swim was put on hold.  Instead, they played in the MUD!!  Yes, I let my daughter play in the mud.  Not but choice but she did have a ball!!  I just wish she wouldn't  have had her pretty yellow dress on however, it did come clean!!  Grandma Val washed is several times that evening and it's almost as good as new!  On Sunday, we had nephew Jackson's 4th b-day party.  It was a jammed packed, fun, family filled weekend!!!

---On June 21st, I had my 20 week sonogram.  While we were already about 97% sure we were having a little boy, I was very anxious to get another peak at our little guy!  And sure enough, HE is still a HE!!!! There is no denying it!  Daddy is already so proud!!!!  Now that it is official, I'm excited to get started on his room.  MeMe will be coming up in a few weeks to get it painted so I guess I better get the theme picked out huh?  The next day I had my normal 4 week doctor's appointment.  Everything looks great and appears to be right on track.  I just love hearing our little boys heartbeat!!  I look forward to my appointment this month!

---Last weekend was another busy weekend for us.  We were able to get a lot of things done around the house.  I have been wanting to get the shelves up in our sub-basement and get that somewhat organized.  Even though it's all storage, I could stand the mess and disorganization!!  It now looks like we have TONS of room down there!  It will be even better when we can get the crib and the rest of the baby stuff out of there!  After spending the morning doing stuff around the house, we decided to hit the pool.  It was pretty flippin HOT so a dip in the pool was right up our alley!  Cody, Sara and the boys joined us a little later.  The kids had a blast swimming and I actually got a little bit of color!  I'm no longer pale and pale can be!!!  That evening, we headed over to Cody and Sara's so I could go "shopping."  Sara kept all of the boys' baby stuff and wanted to sell us whatever we wanted.  She gave us a great deal and we got lots and lots of stuff for our little guy.  We won't have to buy much for him at all!!!  Thanks Sara!!!!!!!!  On Sunday, we went to yet another Royal's game.  This time we were going with the Hemme's.  Unfortunately, Ang wasn't feeling well so she stayed home.  Once again, it was hotter than hell!!!  I was dripping with sweat before the game even started!!  Rylee and Ava were pretty hot as well!  Despite the heat, we did manage to have a good time at the ballpark and to top it off, the Royal's won!!  I had the leave the game a little early for my night out with the girls!  Me, Janaye, Brandy, Marianne, Jenny & Tami bought tickets to the Tim McGraw/Lady Antebellum concert.  We have been waiting for MONTHS for our night out!  We had dinner and drinks (well they drank!) and then headed to the concert.  We had such a great night!!!  I miss these girls soooo much!  Now that we don't live in Kansas anymore, I hardly ever get to see them!  I hope we don't wait another 6 months before we get together again.

Well, I think that pretty much sums up our month of June.  Busy, busy, busy....that pretty much sums up our entire summer!  This weekend we are headed south for my cousin Sean's wedding.  The wedding is Friday night so we'll stay in Wichita.  Then we'll get up on Saturday morning and head to the lake for the rest of the holiday weekend!  Ryan has to work all weekend so we are very sad he doesn't get to join us!!

Until next time.....TTFN!!

Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad blogger

Wow, this is by far my worst effort possible!!  It has been 2 months since I blogged last.  And I wish I could say it was because we haven't done anything the last few months but that would be a lie!  My excuse is because of a very, very busy 3 year old running around and because of baby #2 on the way.  I have just been beyond exhausted in the evenings and the last thing I've wanted to do, is get on the computer and blog.  I'm so, so sorry to have been such a slacker.  I will try to do better but there are no guarantees!!  So, here is a brief recap of the last 2 months.....

May Recap
---Rylee finished up her swimming lessons.  We are so very proud of her!!!  She was already a fish to begin with but she learned so much at lesssons.  She is no longer scared of jumping off the side AND going under the water!!!!  We have gone swimming a fews times since and she just amazes us!  Way to go baby girl!!!
---The last week of April we found out that we would be welcoming a Baby Boy into our family!!!  While finding out the sex of your baby at 13 weeks is pretty rare, our baby boy wasn't SHY at all!  Daddy is already very, very proud of his son!!
---The first weekend in May, a crew from Caldwell came up to celebrate my Aunt Rita's upcoming wedding.  It was a wild weekend with some crazy ladies but we had a blast!!  I'm thrilled for my Aunt Rita!!
Aunt Rita, mom & I

The whole gang - What a good time we had!!

---I started taking a YOGA class at work.  I had to stop working out because I couldn't keep my heart-rate in the "safe" level for me and the baby.  I was so bummed about not being able to continue my running.  Luckily, we have a health enhancement coordinator at work that has classes once a week during the lunch hour.  I talke to her about the YOGA class and she thought it would be great for me to start.  So knows all the things I should and shouldn't be doing so I thought, why not!  It's better than nothing right?!?!  I absolutely LOVE it!  Not only am I stretching and breathing, it is sooooo RELAXING!!!  I also continue to treat myself to a monthly chair massage at work.  We have a massage therapist that comes in once a month and she is fabulous!!  I sign up for 20 minutes and its the best 20 minutes of my day!!  I always look forward to the next time she'll be in!
---Mothers Day Weekend we spent an afternoon in Concordia with Ryan's parents!  We hadn't seen them for a while so I'm glad we got to do that!  Rylee was dying to show them how much of a BIG girl she is by riding her new bike.  She rode round and round and round in there driveway.  We had a super fun day with Grandma and Grandpa!!

---Rylee and I also took a little road trip to Winfield, KS for a special birthday party.  One of my best friends from college, Jessica, is from Winfield.  After our college graduation, she moved out to Phoenix :(.  While its a super fun place to visit, I HATE that we live so far away from each other!  We typically only get to see each other once a year.  Anyways, she and her husband Matt, welcome their daughter Sophia last May.  We weren't able to get together over Christmas so we hadn't had a chance to meet little miss Sophia yet.  They came back to Winfield to have her birthday party and I was NOT going to miss it!  We had such a fun time with them and I'm very glad that we finally got to meet Sophia and of course, catch up with Jess!!  We hope to get to see them again later this summer or after our little guy arrives!!  In addition to our little road trip to Winfield, we of course got to see my family in Caldwell!  Our trip was way too short but we had a great time!

---The next to last weekend in May, we again head south for a very special event...the 1st Annual Scott Rice Memorial Golf Tournament.  Ryan was participating and I was volunteering.  What an event it was. The amount of people that came out to support this very special family was unbelievable!  It was a great day and a ton of money was raised for the Children's Education Fund.  I was honored to be a part of the event.  And I look forward to watching this thing grow year to year.  Can't wait to help out again next year!!!!

---We spent the Memorial Day Holiday weekend down at the Lake of the Ozarks.  This is our summer holiday that we spend with the Krauses'.  Unfortunately, everyone wasn't able to make it down this year.  Val was in China on a trip through her school.  What an amazing trip she was able to take!!  Steve was in the field all weekend.  May was a very, very rainy month, with the exception of this weekend.  So since this was the first dry spell we'd had in a LONG time, he had to work.  Aaron, Dana & Paxton spent the holiday weekend with Dana's family.  So, it was just us and then Cody, Sara, Jackson and Matthew.  Dispite missing the rest of the family, we had a GREAT time!  We couldn't have asked for a better weekend, weather wise!  The kids had a lot of fun swimming in the late and really enjoyed the little boat rides we took.  The lake was way too busy in the afternoons so we got up and around early each day so we could take advantage of a calm lake while we had the chance.

---I think that pretty much wraps up the month of May!  I'll leave you with a few more pictures of our little monkey!!  She loves being silly for pictures these days!!!!!!!

I'll be back to recap June so far and I'll post some new pictures of Rylee along with our most recent sonogram pictures of our little guy!  I know this post was very long!  And as stated many times before, I will try my best to blog more often!

Until next time, TTFN!!!

Saturday fun with Snow White & The Hemme's

Ok so yes, I'm a little behind again!  Story of my life these days!!  Last Saturday we had a very busy but super fun day!  Snow White was at Crown Center and taking pictures with kids until 6pm.  So we decided to join both Hemme familys.  We started the day with lunch at Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant.  This restaurant is great for the kiddo's!!  The trains delivery your meal to your table!  Pretty cool!  Here is a picture of Rylee in front of the train at the entrance of the restaurant.
Here is Rylee with her railroad hat on
After we ate lunch, the girls were all so excited to see Snow White however, the line was INSANE!!!  The daddy's were so generous and offered to stand in line while we took the girls to the Crayola Store.  Not sure who got the better end of this deal!!  After they waited in line for over and hour, we decided to join them.  The girls almost couldn't contain their excitement!  We FINALLY made it to the front of the line and Rylee was about to go nuts!!  It was her turn and Snow White waved her to come sit on her lap.  Rylee look off running.  Unfortunately, there was a little lip in the floor that she didn't see and she feel head first onto the ground.  I think it scared her more than anything but she was very upset.  We let Ava and Oliva go ahead of us so we could get Rylee calmed down.  I walked Rylee up to Snow White and she jumped up in her arms and buried her head in Snow Whites shoulder.  It was sooooo cute!  Here she is sitting on Snow Whites lap!
Here are all the girls with Snow White....Ava, Rylee, Oliva, Hailey & Sidney.
Crown Center also had an exhibit called Fairy Tale Village.  It was just a bunch of little houses they could walk through and they all had to do with Fairy Tales.  So there was Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Three Little Pigs, etc.  It was pretty cool.  Here is Rylee and part of Oliva in front of The Big Bad Wolf!

Here is another attempt at a picture of all the girls...Rylee, Sidney, Ava, Olivia & Hailey

After we finished at Crown Center, the Hemme's invited us to their house so the girls could continue to play and then we'd have a BBQ.  Here are the girls dancing and singing to Hailey's karaoke machine.

We had such a fun time with the Hemme families!!!  We don't get together near enough!!

Sunday was my birthday and I started my day by sleeping in until 10am!!  It was WONDERFUL!!!  I can't even remember the last time I did that!  We had a pretty relaxing day which was perfect!  We did a little shopping but pretty much hung out at home most of the day.  Then it was off to Salty Iguana for supper.  Ryan is not a HUGE fan of mexican like I am but my birthday is the one day that I know he'll take me out for mexican with no complaints!!!  I had a GREAT b-day weekend!!

We had yet another busy week of swimming lessons and work!  I took pictures of Rylee on Wednesday night at her lesson so I'll try to get them posted sometime this weekend!

Another busy weekend planned as we will be heading south for our niece Ashlee's 4th b-day party!  Should have some fun pictures to post of the girls!

Also, would like to wish my father-in-law a very Happy Birthday!!!  We are sad we won't get to help them celebrate at the lake this weekend!  Steve, I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Until next time, TTFN!!

First night of Swimming Lessons

Well, Miss Rylee had a very big day today.  Our day started with her 3-year appointment with the dentist.  I started taking her when she was 1-year old and we've gone every 6-months since.  However, this was going to be the first time they were going to clean her teeth.  I wasn't sure how it was going to go but we go to a wonderful Pediatric Dentist here in Lee's Summit so I was hopeful she would do great!

It took quite a bit of bartering to get her to sit in the chair all by herself.  Once we accomplished that feat, they next thing was deciding whether or not to have x-rays of her teeth.  She was 100% fine with them taking pictures of her teeth but she DID NOT want to wear the protective cover.  We started first by just covering her legs and then she finally decided it would be OK to cover her chest.....just as long as lamby got to participate as well.  She did GREAT during the x-rays.  Next up, the cleaning.  Now this part, took lots and lots of convincing before she agreed to do this.  Then it was time for the doctor to come in.  Now the doctor doesn't have 45 minutes to sit and wait for my little one to open her mouth and decide its OK for her to do her thing.  So needless to say, the 5 minutes with the doctor was a bit brutal.  She did a lot of crying and fighting us.  I had to hold down her hands and the hygentist had to hold her feet.  It was not pretty.  But once the doctor was done and she was in mommy's arms, she was fine.....that and the yummy popsicle they promised her.  Sorry I don't have any pictures to post....way to much going on during this 1-hour visit to the dentist.

Next up....SWIMMING LESSONS!!  And oh my was she so excited about this.  She wanted to wear her swimming suit all day and was NOT happy when I wouldn't let her.  Daddy had her all dressed and ready by the time I got home for week.  Her lessons started at 5:30 so I really had to book it home in order to make it on time.  We arrived at the YMCA in Blue Springs and the excited exploded...especially when she saw the swimming pools.  She was ready to jump right in but we had to wait a few minutes before they got started.  Now, I know she isn't afraid of the water.....she's a little fish!  BUT, I wasn't sure how she would do in the water without Mommy or Daddy.  That would be a first!  I debated on whether or not she was ready for the Pre-School session and the lady told me if she was 3, she was ready.  Can you tell I was a little nervous?!?!

Here is a picture of the munchkin waiting patiently to get in the pool.

Here she is sitting on the side with her other classmates.

FINALLY, she gets to get in the water...

Oh how she loves the water....She did absolutely great in class.  She was the youngest one in the class I believe and probably one of the ones that was the least afraid!  Can't wait to see what she learns on Wednesday!

This is what we looked like on the ride home...just chillin' in her car seat.

Good times at the dentist and swimming lessons today!!

Until next time....TTFN!

I bought this shirt for Rylee and she picked it out one morning last week for school.  I couldn't resist taking pictures of her before we left for the day.

How could you not love this blue eyed girl??

If you can remember, we always have to take a silly face picture in order to get a good one.  So, here you go!
